In 2009, there are twenty-nine Chinese elements were inscribed on UNESCO's World Intangible Cultural Heritages List. Twenty-six of the Chinese elements were inscribed on The Representative List, while three World Intangible Cultural Heritages of China were inscribed on The List of Intangible Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.
